Stakeholder Benefits
The Canadian Pork Council is a federation of nine provincial pork industry associations representing 7,000 farms. The organization plays a leadership role in achieving and maintaining a dynamic and prosperous Canadian pork sector.
Representation
The needs of producers must be heard during national and international discussions impacting the Canadian hog industry. The influence of the Canadian pork industry is stronger when represented by a national organization than if individual provinces were to advocate independently.
Coordination
The Canadian Pork Council coordinates national initiatives and liaises with federal stakeholders on policies and regulations. This streamlined approach conserves time and resources for provincial associations, allowing them to concentrate on issues specific to their respective provinces.
On-Farm Program Development
Canadian hog producers rely on the CPC to help develop and implement the best On-Farm Programs that ensure animal care, food safety and traceability requirements.
Expertise and Knowledge
CPC staff, members, and Board of Directors, pride themselves in their expertise surrounding the Canadian pork industry. Up-to-date information is consistently being shared with member associations and hog producers to ensure farmers are aligned with the newest standards, protocols, and federal updates.
