On May 29, the Canadian Pork Council (CPC) hosted the third edition of its annual Ribfest, bringing together Members of Parliament, Senators, and key stakeholders for a relaxed lunch event celebrating Canadian pork. The event served as an opportunity to foster relationships with government decision-makers while reinforcing the sector’s contributions to the Canadian economy and food system.
Guests were invited to enjoy a delicious pork ribs lunch, meet the CPC team, and learn more about the work of Canadian pork producers. As part of our commitment to the community, we encouraged voluntary donations to the Ottawa Food Bank and contributed $5 for each confirmed attendee. This initiative resulted in a donation of $1,250, demonstrating the CPC’s commitment to supporting food security.
We were pleased to welcome over 250 attendees to the event, including the Honourable Heath MacDonald, MP John Barlow, the Honourable Maninder Sidhu, and Senator Robert Black.
We look forward to the next edition of the CPC Ribfest.
