Whether it be “organic”, “only produce”, “just fruits” or “still good”, food waste can be contaminated with diseases that could kill pigs and destroy Canada’s pork industry. “The recent escalation of the African swine fever epidemic around the world has placed the majority of the world’s swine population under direct threat”. – World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) African swine fever is not a threat to human health. Help us keep pigs safe by never offering food waste to farmers. It’s just not worth the risk….
