The Canadian Pork Council represents over 7000 commercial pork producers in Canada who are members of provincial associations, but it is recognized there are many more people who own and take care of pigs.

Canadian pork producers represented by CPC rely on the On-Farm Programs and the Code of Practice for the Care and Handling of Pigs for guidance. These programs may not fully apply to every pig owner’s reality; therefore, some provinces and municipalities have additional or different guidelines or laws to follow. You can access the Code of Practice by downloading the document from the sidebar.
